Four that explain the rest.
There are more than two hundred and fifty projects behind this page. These four are the ones I'd point at if you only had ten minutes.
The Fresh Air Fund
Youth charity, New York · Built while I was on staff · Lives on as their data archive
The situation
Camp records lived in spreadsheets, paper forms and three people's heads. Every summer the same families were re-typed into the same fields by different departments.
The decision
Nothing off the shelf fitted a charity that ran camps, host-family placements, HR and fundraising as one organization. Buying would have meant four systems and a permanent reconciliation job. So: build one.
What I built
A web database covering campers, host families, staff, programs and giving, designed around how the staff worked, because I was one of them.
What it does now
Its legacy lives on as the live archive of all of the organization's data, more than a decade after I left the staff.
Third Street Music School Settlement
Community music school, New York · Six sites · one migration
The situation
A community music school running classes, private lessons, a preschool and a gala, across a web estate that had grown one page at a time, on top of registration software it had outgrown.
The decision
A redesign alone wouldn't have fixed it. The sites were a symptom; the registration data was the problem. We agreed to move the data first and let the websites follow.
What I built
A migration off Studio School Pro into a structured model of classes, registrations, households and faculty. Then six connected sites reading from it: main, music & dance, preschool, partners, resources, gala.
What it does now
Around 30,000 people and 13,000 households in one place, with class listings that update themselves. Staff update the data and the sites follow.
Hera
Operations software for Amazon delivery partners · Commercial product · Principal architect and product manager
The situation
Delivery service partners were running fleets, drivers, compliance and Amazon scorecards across a dozen spreadsheets and a group chat.
The decision
Build a product rather than a tool for one operator. That meant designing for a market that had to be able to switch it on in an afternoon, and pricing it per driver.
What I built
I shaped the product and its UX, and ran the development process for scheduling, vehicle inspections, scorecard tracking, compliance, inventory, e-signature and a communications hub, synced with Amazon and ADP and working on a phone in a yard at four in the morning.
What it does now
A commercial product with an official listing in the Amazon Vendor Exchange, sold per active driver to operators who run it themselves.
St Osyth Priory
Historic estate, Essex coast · 350 acres · weddings, events, stays
The situation
Fourteen hundred years of history, a recent restoration, and three businesses sharing one estate: weddings, corporate stays and a farm shop. Enquiries arrived by email and lived in inboxes.
The decision
The site had to sell the place before it sold a package, so the photography leads and the booking machinery stays out of the way until someone is ready.
What I built
A site built around the estate's own photography, with viewing appointments, enquiry routing and scheduling wired in behind it. Built with Claire Moorhead Co.
What it does now
Couples book viewings themselves. The estate team stopped being a booking system.
The wider portfolio
A selection from two hundred and fifty-odd projects across a hundred-plus organizations.
Technology consulting and event tech
The same job for seven organizations: advice on the systems, and the technology behind their events.
